When you decide to buy a new set of blinds you have to first find out what is the good size for your windows, and how to install them. If you are not willing to pay astronomical prices to have them installed by a professional, you can do it easily yourself, as long as you know the basics that comes to installing window blinds.
First of all you need to take measures of the windows to be certain that the blinds that you will buy are going to fit. It is not going to be easy at the frist time since you will have to measure them a little wider than your windows and at the same time the height of the blinds is going to have to be just enough to cover the windows from the height that you are going to attach them to. So don’t just measure the top of the window to the bottom. Normally the height is not as important as the width since you can adjust the blids a little, but if you get too short blinds you are not going to be able to cover the whole window. So at least make sure that they are tall enough.
When you finally get the blinds, you are going to have to separate the brackets that come with the blinds, and screw them to the top frame of your window. Make sure that the screws are long enough, but at the same time they should not be too long and penetrate the frame completely. This might end up damaging your windows. When you have screwed the brackets, you are going to have to slide in the blinds.
Make sure that you attach the blinds correctly, and according to the instructions that comes with your particular model. That way you are going to avoid any possivle damage, and if you mange to break the blinds anyway, you can always refer to the manual when you are asking for a refund – if they instruct you incorrectly, you can as them for the money back.
